AICP Launches ‘Art Vs Advertising’ Campaign as It Calls for Entries

Who has more work featured in The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA): Is it advertising veterans, Susan Credle, Gerry Graf and Jeff Kling or famous artists Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, and Jeff Koons?

The answers may surprise you in the hilarious new ‘Art Vs Advertising’ film series. The series of short films promotes the fact that all winning work in the AICP Awards is included in the archives of the Department of Film at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). This is a part of the AICP’s call for entries campaign for the 2017 AICP Awards, which includes the AICP Show and AICP Next Awards.

“The conversation about art and advertising is over—its now about Art vs Advertising as creative rivalries percolate across media platforms,” said Matt Miller, President and CEO of AICP, said in a statement. “The archive at MoMA is a huge achievement, offering unequaled prestige to artists of all walks as they strive for creative recognition.”

The films showcase some of the top creative talent in the industry: Susan Credle, Chief Creative Officer at FCB Worldwide, Gerry Graf, Founder/Chief Creative Officer at Barton F. Graf, and Jeff Kling, Chief Creative Officer at Fallon. Each film subject wrote their own script. The creative concept was crafted by Nick Law, Global Chief Creative Officer at R/GA and 2017 AICP Next Awards Judging Chair, and Jay Zasa, Executive Creative Director at R/GA. Also contributing from R/GA are Creative Directors Mike Donaghey and Chris Joakim.

The deadline to enter the AICP Awards is March 3, 2017. The AICP Show and AICP Next Awards both premiere during AICP Week, which takes place June 5th-7th. The full, searchable AICP Awards archive is available at www.aicpawards.com for all in the industry to find their tally.
