The Scale Collective- Women Helping Other Women

Posted November 3, 2016

“When you support one another, we all rise together,” said Randi Zuckerburg, addressing a crowd of women entrepreneurs and start-ups at Virago’s inaugural event, The Scale Collective.

On November 2nd, Virago co-founders Joy Des Jardins and Stephanie Agresta brought together a room full of female start-ups providing them access to networking opportunities, venture capitalists, and speeches by successful women entrepreneurs.

The morning began with powerful CEOS including Randi Zuckerberg, the CEO of Zuckerberg Media, Sandy Carter, CEO and Founder of Silicon Blitz, and Julia Pimsleur, founder of Little Pim and CEO of Million Dollar Women discussing the importance of successful women entrepreneurs and the challenges females start-ups face.

After the speakers, attendees had a chance to choose a track they needed help with- PR/Marketing, Scale, or Fundraising, with an opportunity to change tracks.

Everyone reconvened for a working lunch where they had the opportunity to hear Sallie Krawcheck, CEO of Ellevest, a digital investment platform for women. After her speech, attendees were able to go to “office hours” where they had access to all the speakers and experts for one-on one mentoring and networking.

The day also ended with a bang when Elizabeth Gore, the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Dell,  spoke about “Defining Superstardom.”

This followed with a panel that also focused on the same topic of defining superstardom.

“We are thrilled with the outcomes of The Scale Collective- Our inaugural event proved out our hypothesis that there are real win-win scenarios by connecting women entrepreneurs, investors, and advisors, Des Jardins told DIVERGE. “We saw valuable connections made and we are eager to see what develops next. “

“The energy at this event was amazing – so much sharing and connecting,” said Agresta.“Our speakers and experts were deeply engaged with our female founders.”

“We are proud that this community came together in the spirit of sharing their knowledge, their networks, and doing business together,” Agresta added.
