Chuck E. Cheese’s® Kicks off ’40 Years of Fun’ Celebration

Posted January 30, 2017

On May 16, 1977, Atari CEO Nolan Bushnell opened the very first Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre. To celebrate Chuck E. Cheese’s, the family fun dining and entertainment experience, where A Kid Can Be A Kid®, the company is inviting everyone to celebrate.

“We’re so proud to celebrate 40 years of fun, food and play later this year and are thankful to all of the families who have supported us throughout the years,” stated Michael Hartman, chief marketing officer at CEC Entertainment, Inc, in a release. “For our birthday, we’ve focused on creating new and fun ways to say thank you to the millions who have chosen to share their special family memories with us.”

The company is offering two ways to celebrate.

It’s Easy to Rip It and Win It:
Now, until Feb. 26, or while supplies last, every 16-ounce adult-sized drink comes with a game piece attached that you can rip off to win a prize. The game pieces are redeemable for tickets, tokens or a grand prize – and every piece is a winner!

Five lucky grand prize winners will win a VIP trip for 4 to San Francisco, Calif. to visit the studio that brought you the blockbuster Skylanders movie (a $5,000 value). Other prizes include 40 tokens or tickets, 40 cent cotton candy, $40 gift cards to Michaels® or for Fandango movie tickets, or a pizza party for 40 at Chuck E. Cheese’s. Prizes must be redeemed by April 16 by visiting chuckecheese.com/peelnwin.

How is Chuck-E-Cheese celebrating their 40th anniversary?

Chuck E. Cheese’s is kicking off the ‘40 Years of Fun’ celebration with an all new Rip It Win It promotion, in which everyone wins! Now until Feb. 26, every 16-ounce adult sized drink comes with a game piece attached that you can rip off to win. The game pieces are redeemable for tickets, tokens or a grand prize – and every piece is a winner. We’ll also be releasing new menu items and promotions throughout the year to make celebrations even more fun.

Where did you get the idea for #KidsGoingOn40?

We thought posting photos of your children with the hashtag #KidsGoingOn40 would be a cute and fun way for people to engage on social media for our 40th Anniversary. Those who use #KidsGoingOn40 have a chance to win various prizes, including 400 Chuck E. Cheese’s tickets, a Kid Motorz Mercedes Benz or a three-in-one game table for your family.

What kind of interaction have you seen? What do you hope to see?

We have already seen engagement across social channels including Twitter and Instagram. People are able to enter the sweepstakes up until Feb. 17, so we look forward to seeing many more entries and announcing a winner!
