SS+K’s PSAs for NCAA’s March Madness Address Tomorrow’s Athletes

Posted March 17, 2017

Marketing and communications agency SS+K has launched two NCAA PSAs to air during March Madness. Opportunity and Kids are the latest in a series of PSAs created by the agency.

SS+K has been making PSAs for NCAA since 2015. “We wanted to show how the NCAA puts their beliefs into action,” said Bobby Hershfield, Partner, Chief Creative Officer at SS+K, in a statement. “Whether it be through providing opportunities to a diverse population of student athletes or working to protect the health and well being of student athletes on and off the field, we’re able to share the good.”

The PSA Kids takes you to the moment, when kids are just discovering their love of sports. To their first, biggest fans (their parents), the NCAA vows that”our universities are working every day to keep college sports safe, so you can watch them play with a little less worry and a little more joy.”

The second PSA, Opportunity features a diverse group of young basketball players dribbling, juking, passing, and shooting—boys and girls of different colors and ages, in big city streets, leafy suburbs, and wheat field blanketed farm towns. Different lives, united by the desire to succeed on and off the field.

“It’s not about where you were born,” the narrator says. “It’s not about your gender, or the color of your skin, or whether you’re rich, poor, or in the middle. No matter what you play, if you have the skill and drive to succeed in school and in sports, we’ll provide the opportunity.”
