Viral Danish Ad Show Us To Celebrate Acceptance and Diversity

Posted February 1, 2017

An advertisement by Danish broadcaster TV2 has gone viral. The message it aims to share is that we all have more in common than we think with those that are different from us, whether its racial difference, wealth, or anything else.

The ad, by creative consultant company Nicholas Berglund, shows people grouped together in boxes based on classifications based on appearances, such as high earners, those we trust, and more.

“We live in a time where we quickly put people in boxes. Maybe we have more in common than what we think? Introducing All That We Share – lastest film by Asger Leth for TV2 Denmark. We encourage you to share this because it’s a heartwarming reminder that our perceived labels do not define us. And it’s important to remember this today more than ever.”stated the Nicholas Berglund Facebook page. “In a mission to celebrate acceptance and diversity, the ad breaks apart the ‘Us vs Them’ narrative to remind us to find common ground by looking beyond appearances.”

The ad, which was released on the same day President Trump signed the executive order banning those from seven Muslim-majority countries entering the US for 90 days and halting the Syrian refugee program, comes at a perfect time to show us what brings us together, instead of what may divide us.
