Angela Burt-Murray, the former editor-in-chief at Essence, was hired by Glamour, effective this week. Burt-Murray will be responsible for working on large features, editorial packages, and brand partnerships at Glamour.
“I’ve been an Angela Burt-Murray fan for years, and am thrilled she’s joining our team,” said Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive, in a statement. “Her extensive brand-building skill and multiplatform know-how will be invaluable as we cultivate new editorial franchises for Glamour, particularly at this exciting moment for women.”
Most recently, Burt-Murray cofounded the Cocoa Media Group in Atlanta, and coauthored The Vow, which was turned into a Lifetime movie, With this Ring. Previously, she had served as executive editor at Teen People and Honey magazines.
