Leo Burnett Chicago has promoted Emma Montgomery to the Chief Strategy Officer of its Chicago office.
Motgomery joins from Leo Burnett Sydney, where she led communications planning and brand strategy, and helped develop and lead an innovative, cross-functional approach to creative problem solving.
“I am looking forward to accelerating our strategic product, in partnership with our data and analytics capabilities, the Core, and our creative teams, to design modern, world-class creative solutions and enduring programs that enable brands to thrive today,” said Emma Montgomery told DIVERGE.
Montgomery will help lead Leo Burnett in part by working with The Core, the agency’s newly launched data and analytics offering, to unlock insights that will fuel creativity. She will report to Andrew Swinand, Leo Burnett North America CEO, and join the agency’s leadership.
“I’ve known Emma for a long time. She has deep experience in data, research and innovation that will further enable us to link brand strategy with creativity to drive experiences that change human behavior,” Swinand explained.
In her previous role at Leo Burnett Sydney, Montgomery was responsible for directing, growing and innovating the agency’s strategic product. Montgomery has also held various communications planning and brand strategy roles at Starcom, both in Chicago and in Sydney, Australia, encompassing areas such as data and analytics, research and innovation, among others.
