22Squared Celebrates International Women’s Day with a Week of Events

Posted March 10, 2017

For International Women’s Day, national independent agency 22Squared is celebrating by hosting a week of events to show support, acknowledgement and celebration of their female peers and coworkers under the theme #BeBoldForChange.

The agency, which proudly boasts 80% female SVP’s, 50% female officers, 47% female creatives, 59% female department heads, 29% female executive leadership and 68% total female employees has planned several different components to celebrate the day.

“The amount of support that 22squared provides around diversity and women is truly astounding,” Courtney Jones, Account Executive/Business Development, 22squared, told DIVERGE. “We are so pleased to take this moment to acknowledge and celebrate our female coworkers, and additionally, to raise awareness and contribute to our local communities in both Atlanta and Tampa.”

“Challenging the world, changes the world. And we all passionately embrace #BeBoldForChange,” she added.

Here is what the agency has planned:

Local Charity Drive:

Both 22squared’s Atlanta and Tampa offices have partnered with a local organization to support during the week. In Atlanta, the office is working with the International Women’s House and in Tampa with The Spring. Throughout the week, employees are gathering supplies in support of the organization. They are also hosting a “Bleacher Talks” where representatives from the local organizations come to 22squared and speak about the needs of women and children in the local community.

Personal Touch:

Starting Monday, complimentary cards were made available to all staff – women and men. We hope that everyone will take a moment to share anonymous expressions of appreciation and acknowledge the women at 22squared who have been influential in their lives. At week’s end, the cards will be displayed as reminders of empowerment.

Cards & Cocktails Celebration:

Each anonymous appreciation card also acts as an ‘entry fee’ to an all-staff Cards & Cocktails party taking place in both offices Friday, March 10. This happy hour gathering will be the final celebration for the week.

Social Component:

22squared is creating a series of posts (see sample attached) which will be animated and post on the agency’s FB and IG channels. These images will also be printed out as posters and will be hung around both offices, Atlanta and Tampa. They have also created an employee-only website component. The idea of the website is to ask users, ” What’s the one thing you hate being called at work?” As responses are entered, the more times one word is said, the “word bubble” will get larger and larger. They will have a message of empowerment on the page, encouraging people to think before they speak.
