The communications industry has lost one of its trailblazers to cancer. Pamela Edstrom. Edstrom, who was Microsoft’s first PR director, and partner of the PR agency, WE Communications, passed away last week after a four-month battle with cancer.
“Our Pam fought hard every step of the way with the same courage with which she tackled everything,” wrote Melissa Waggener Zorkin, Edstrom’s partner at WE Communications. “In life, extraordinary doesn’t come by us often.”
“At WE, we have had the privilege, the honor, of extraordinary because Pam has (race) walked our halls,” she added.” From Pam we have learned many lessons that will always stay with us in perpetuity. Pam will always stand for what is good and right as the consummate truthteller.”
Many of her colleagues and friends have also honored her on social media, remembering her true spirit and her passion for her work.
Sadly today we lost Pam Edstrom after a battle w/cancer. Her huge imprint of love & life lessons will be w/us always https://t.co/QgjB40nwRt

In many ways, Pam Edstrom made Microsoft what it is today. Smart, tough, always behind the scenes. https://t.co/7GufquuyzW
