Fairygodboss, a marketplace where professional women looking for jobs, advice, and the inside scoop on companies, has launched its Work-Life Balance Guide, an online database to help women identify flexible working policies.
The database aims to help women find employers who offer the flexible working policies, and jobs they’re interested in – even from companies who don’t openly share that information.
“Our research has found that women – whether or not they have children – prioritize flexibility when they’re job searching. We’ve also discovered a direct correlation between female job satisfaction levels and job flexibility levels. Women tend to be happier when they’re more in control of their work-life balance,” Georgene Huang, CEO and Co-Founder of Fairygodboss told DIVERGE. “Still, it’s hard for job seekers, especially mothers, to ask about flexibility policies while interviewing, because they’re worried it will seem like they’re not 100% committed. Our guide helps to eliminate that stigma so that women can find the best jobs for their lives.”
The Work-Life Balance Guide will allow women to search specific companies or industries to see which employers offer part-time, telecommuting jobs or flexible working policies. Additional insights such as compressed workweeks, allowances for some work-from-home days, or flexible workday start and end times will also be easily searchable in the database.
The guide can aid job seekers to find valuable information such as the fact the percentage of employers who are able to work remotely throughout the week.
Additionally, the database offers information on work flexibility, commitment and more.
