Facebook UK: “If You Are Looking, We Are Hiring”

Posted November 28, 2016

Facebook is expanding the size of its UK operation by 50% in 2017, according to Nicola Mendelsohn, Facebook’s vice president of EMEA.

Mendelsohn addressed the crowd at #CBI2016, stating that Facebook “is just one example of how businesses are saying ‘actually the UK is a good place to invest and a good place to do business’.”

“We have 1,000 people working in our offices in London, but we’re going to continue to invest and we’re going to increase our head count by 50% in the next year, so we will have 1,500 people here in the UK,” explained Mendolsohn. “So if you’re looking for a job – we’re hiring.”

Facebook opened its London office is 2007 and is constructing a new building in the London district of Fitzrovia for its new offices.

“Facebook’s decision to expand in London is further evidence that London’s strength as a tech hub keeps on growing. It follows news this week that London remains the best city in Europe for digital startups, Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said in a statement.

“The capital’s vibrant tech scene is the envy of Europe and Facebook’s continuing commitment is another sign that London is open to talent, innovation and entrepreneurship from all four corners of the world.”
