Social Media Sites and the Internet Offer Help for Voters on Election Day

With Election day only a day away, websites like Facebook, Twitter,  SnapChat, Yahoo and Google are trying to help voters by getting them prepared for voting.

Facebook:

Facebook is offering research on candidates, amendments, details on where to vote, and more. Just search “vote” in the search bar and this will come up.

You can get updates from the  Government & Elections team. You can also send a direct message to @gov for personalized voter information.

Snapchat:

Snapchat  has partnered TurboVote and several celebrities, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ryan Seacrest, Jared Leto, Ciara and Jimmy Fallon, to create videos sharing why to vote and explaining how it’s done.

The 10-second videos encourage Snapchat users to swipe up on the app, where they’ll be directed to register.turbovote.org.

Google:

Google has a special picture up for voting. When you click on it, it shows your polling place and information and how to vote or register to vote.

Yahoo:

Yahoo also offers help with registering to vote, finding your polling place, and information on the candidates.

Many other sites offer similar options to encourage voting.
