Droga5, Wieden and Kennedy, and BBDO are a few of the agencies that freelancers would “kill to work for fulltime” according to Working Not Working survey results revealed in the end of October.

“We are big fans of Working Not Working and its members. We’re flattered that the community would put us on their list of places they’d happily convert to full-time status for! At Droga5, we strive to create the best work of our careers and I think that shows in the work we produce. That is an attractive prospect for ambitious creatives looking to do the same,” said Traci Calabrese, Director of Creative Services.

Founded by Justin Gignac who worked at agencies like Toy, Fallon and Ogilvy & Mather and fellow Ogilvy co-worker Adam Tompkins, CD at DraftFCB, the company does a survey every year to gauge which companies are considered “dream” companies for their database of creatives.

The freelancers online network site has a community of almost 8000 creatives, including designers, developers, photographers, illustrators, animators, videographers, editors and directors, with New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and London as their biggest markets.

“I think that one of the reasons why people choose tech companies such as Facebook and Uber is because they know what the mission is,” explained Gignac.

“Not many agencies are good at branding themselves even though they are great at branding clients so when you see these Drogas, Wiedens and 72andSunnys, that are consistently on here, its because people know why they are there and are excited to be a part of their mission.”

The company, which is now a team of 14, is working on a complete rehaul of the website for January 2017.

Gignac explained that the website’s redesign and relaunch will include a lot of new features which will allow users to do a lot more including expanding the membership board and increasing the jury of community members that screen and approve each submitted portfolio.

“We spend a lot of time making sure the talent on the site is really good and can deliver and we try to find the superstars in the industry now,” he added.

The company is also partnering with schools, getting recent graduates, getting junior and mid level talent to find the future potential rockstars.
