Zipcar: Driving the Vote

Posted November 8, 2016

Zipcar, the car sharing and car club service, is ‘Driving the Vote’ by helping their customers get to the polls.

On Election day, Zipcar is offering its vehicles nationwide free of charge to help customers get to polling places between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Taxes and fees may still apply. Existing customers and new ones can reserve the cars on the website or through the Zipcar app.

Over 7000 cars will be available in all markets in which Zipcar operates, including hundreds of cities and towns and over 500 college campuses, according to the press release

“At Zipcar, we know our community of Zipsters are actively engaged in civic affairs and passionate about issues, but may also need quick and easy access to transportation in order to vote. We decided to do our part to #DRIVEtheVOTE by making cars free,” said Andrew Daley, vice president of marketing.  “Regardless of political affiliation or sentiment, we believe that voting is a civic duty, and we want to ensure that access to transportation isn’t a barrier to casting a ballot.”
