Netflix Allows Users to Download Video Content

Posted December 1, 2016

Netflix members worldwide can now watch Netflix on the go, without using Internet or data.

“While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited,” Eddy Wu, Director of Product Innovation, explained in a blog post.

Orange is The New Black, Narcos and The Crown are a few of the shows that are available for download now with more on the way, the announcement explained.

The option does not involve extra charges and is included in all plans and available for phones and tablets on Android and iOS. To start downloading content, users need to update their Netflix app to the most recent version.

Netflix is the world’s leading Internet television network with over 86 million members in over 190 countries enjoying more than 125 million hours of TV shows and movies per day, including original series, documentaries and feature films.

Netflix has been recognized for its own shows and for its revivals of 90’s classics such as the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and Fuller House, with season 2 premiering on December 9th.
