Y&R Launches Podcast Madison & Culture

Posted May 18, 2017

Young & Rubicam is launching a biweekly podcast to explore advertising, marketing, media and creativity, according to a recent announcement. Hosted by Y&R’s Global CEO David Sable, the podcasts will launch on May 16. Produced by DGital Media, the podcast will be available on Apple Podcasts and Google Play, Spotify (mobile), Stitcher, TuneIn, iHeart and other distribution outlets.

“We are happy to welcome David and Y&R to DGital Media’s growing family of influencers. Madison & Culture brings insights into our culture through his distinctive lens,” said Sue Kaufman, Senior Vice President, DGital Media.

Madison & Culture will delve into how the lines between commerce and culture are blurring, how culture shapes advertising and marketing and vice versa, as well as how technology is evolving and changing all these arenas.

“I like listening and learning from people who have a real passion for what they do, whether they are changing culture or being influenced by it, whether they are inventing new ways of connecting with people or engaged in the perennial art of storytelling,” Sable told DIVERGE. “I hope listeners will come along for the ride to explore creativity, innovation, technology, new ideas and wherever that leads us.”

The debut episode features a conversation between Sable and GroupM Chairman Irwin Gotleib about how advertising interacts with the Internet of Things and the data and privacy issues related to the technology.

Upcoming episodes include Brian Jennings, the NHL’s EVP of Marketing; WPP’s Worldwide Creative Officer, John O’Keefe; Caryl Stern, President and CEO of the US Fund for UNICEF, and Pepperidge Farm Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Foley.
