RED Interactive Agency Partners with OWN to Launch First-Ever Oprah Game

Posted November 14, 2016

Calling all Candy Crush Saga and Wheel of Fortune addicts! Oprah Winfrey has introduced “Bold Moves,” a game by RED Games, a division of the RED Interactive Agency and Ophrah Winfrey Network(OWN), which features a free-to-play word puzzle game that combines two popular gaming formats – match-three and word solve.

When players solve the puzzle, they are rewarded with quotes from most inspirational pop-culture icons and thought-leaders that have been featured on OWN throughout the years including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Deepak Chopra.

“It’s no secret that I love sharing quotes with my friends, and Bold Moves presented by OWN is a new game that allows you to do just that—but with a twist: You have to solve a puzzle to unlock the inspirational words,” Winfrey stated on her website.

Donny Makower, president of RED Interactive Agency explained that because Oprah and OWN fans are mostly women, and women are a big segment of the casual gaming market, this game is the perfect addition to the Oprah brand.

“They (OWN) never really dove in to that space but it is such a great way to establish another type of engagement with her audience members and to deepen the relationship because you are hitting them on another touch point,” he stated.

“This is a different type of engagement, this type of entertaining game play, so it really makes sense as an extension of their brand,” Makower added.

RED Interactive Agency has been an integral partner with Oprah and OWN for several years and have worked on redesigning Oprah.com, creating their digital life courses, and even building screens for the set of her show called Life Class, which gave her the ability to interact with her followers live on social media during the show.

“Bold Moves” is also on the 2016 list for “Oprah’s Favorite Things.”

The game can currently be downloaded in the App store. It will be available on Google Play, December 1st.
