BARKER NYC is spreading the joy this year by enclosing joyful messages in each card that you can share with people you care about. Additionally, they are donating to Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC in lieu of gifts this year.
DIVERGE spoke to BARKER to find out more:
Why did you choose to do this as your holiday card?
I think we can all agree that giving back has never been more important. So this year, more than any other, we sought to spread some kind words. We wanted our holiday card to be beautiful enough to displayed on its own, with a message that is relevant all year round. Usually, you get a holiday card, read it, and toss it in a pile of other similar cards to be forgotten. We thought that the small note cards were the perfect way to share the joy of the season with others. There’s nothing better than receiving a good, old-fashioned note from a loved one in this impersonal digital age of text messages and emails.
What is the feedback/reaction you have received?
We sent hundreds of cards to clients and friends of the agency, and we’ve received so many compliments already. This card feels more genuine than ones we have done in the past, which were very design-forward. Each card has #BARKERsharethejoy printed on them, so we’ve seen a lot of people utilizing the hashtag in interesting ways!
How much of a donation is being made to Big Brother, Big Sisters NYC?
In lieu of gifts we donated to BBBSNYC, and in addition to that, we gave each employee $100 to donate to a charity of their choice.
