Bernstein-Rein’s Year of Madness Bracket Challenge

Posted December 23, 2016

The Kanas City-based advertising agency Bernstein-Rein is calling upon the public to rank 2016 ‘s craziest moments through its online “Year of Madness Bracket Challenge.”

The challenge lets you choose between  the 16 craziest moments with each moment featuring a gif and a charity to choose that will serve as a remedy for the chaos.

Chris Perkins, Managing Director of Bernstein-Rein told DIVERGE the background:

Where did this idea come from?

As a Connection Agency, we purposely develop ideas and experiences that people willingly engage with, and share. So that’s where we start every effort, and in this case we wanted to reflect on how society views 2016 as a year full of crazy things, and being optimists, help every on put it all behind us so 2017 is truly a fresh start.

Who is the team behind this?

It was a team effort, but those closest to the work include ECD Lara Wyckoff, CD Darren Brickell, ACD Dave Fymbo, Writer Lauren Grabau and VP-Digital Brandon Billings.

How long did it take to implement?

We conceived, built and launch the effort (including social promotion and PR) in 10-weeks.

What kind of reaction/feedback did you receive?

Engagement has been incredibly, with over 700 people completing the brackets in less than 10-days, and thousands of social shares, likes and comments. We can’t wait to reveal the winner of the brackets on January 3, 2017.

We took the challenge for fun- below are the images for the first round:
