Ellevest Reclaims Valentines Day for Women

Posted February 13, 2017

Ellevest, the investing platform for women, wants you  to discuss the importance of financial power for women with your best girlfriends. The company launched a new campaign for Galentines Day.

The postcards encourage you to send postcard to your gals to “help your sisters in arms fall in love with their goals and take financial control.”

DIVERGE talked to Sallie Krawcheck, CEO, Co-Founder of Ellevest and author of Own It: The Power of Women at Work to find out more:

Where did this idea come from?

As fans of Parks and Recreation, we wanted to follow in Leslie Knope’s footsteps and celebrate the awesomeness of female friendship — and add our message of financial power.

Who is the team behind it?

Our internal marketing and creative teams did all the work.

Why is this perfect for Ellevest?

As a company built for women, by women (and a few great guys), why wouldn’t we celebrate Galentine’s Day?

How long will it continue?

The campaign will last from February 6th to February 28th.

What’s the message you hope to get across?

We at Ellevest believe that financial power is an essential step in women’s progress. We won’t be equal with men until we’re financially equal, so we wanted to give women the opportunity not only to take control of their own financial futures, but also help their friends do the same.

Why is the Valentines/galentines day theme a great time to target consumers?

We’ll see how effective the timing is, but Galentine’s Day is the perfect way for women to reclaim V-Day, and we want to help them do it with financial power too.
