Veteran Hollywood communications strategist Chris Petrikin has been named Executive VP Global Communications and Corporate branding at Paramount Pictures.
In this newly created role, Petrikin will work closely with Gianopulos and Paramount’s film and television leadership.
“Chris is a deft strategist and consummate professional with vast insight into the entertainment and media industries. I had the pleasure of working with Chris for many years and he is a valued and trusted advisor, with the strategic vision to further Paramount’s future. I look forward to working with him to shape the company’s narrative and lead our global communications effort,” Gianopulos said in a statement.
Gianopulos and Petrikin worked for years together at 20th Century Fox, where Gianopulos did a long stint as chairman-CEO before departing in September 2016
Petrikin joined Fox in February 2007 from the William Morris Agency to oversee corporate communications, media relations, trade advertising, awards campaigns, special events and charitable activities for the studio’s worldwide operations. Prevuous experience also includes a role at William Morris after working as a reporter and editor for several publications, including Variety, Daily Variety, Inside.com and Inside magazine, and has also contributed to such outlets as GQ, Esquire, Los Angeles Times, Premiere and Salon.com.
Katie Martin Kelley, Executive VP Domestic Publicity, will continue to oversee all aspects of film publicity.
